Al 'n' Julie's Place

Accommodation
Our homestay is a fully self-contained unit with beautiful wood carved
furniture and views of the mountains. The building is a colonial jailhouse,
once used in the settlement of Tokaanu.
Fully renovated, the unit incorporates native wood paneling and stairwell,
while still retaining much of its original character and some of its original
features such as a heavy wooden door complete with lock. The unit offers
views of the mountains, and provides a warm and relaxing setting after
a day of skiing or tramping.
The Garden
Our garden is set in 10 acres of parklike surrounds. Visit the oriental garden or wander through the native vegetation.
Whether you are visiting the local area, mountain biking the 42 Traverse, skiing Mt. Ruapehu, tramping in the Tongariro National Park, pumping your adrenakin in one of the local adventure activities, jetboating or canoeing the Whanganui River, or just visiting our scenic wonderland, you will find the gardens both relaxing and enjoyable.
The Gallery
Our Gallery is used to house Allan's beautifully hand crafted and turned native timbers. Come and enjoy Al's work, view him working, or just peruse his beautifully turned timbers in our Gallery. His work is sold from a variety of locations, including information centres, galleries in Queenstown, and directly from our very own Gallery.
